Exploration Day:

Monday
is the only day of the week when
children remain at "home base". It is a relaxing
day that helps children transition from the
busyness of weekends back into their weekly
routine.

In addition to the daily lesson, it is also
a day when in-depth exploration is made. Be it
by measuring flour, kneading dough and baking
bread or by conducting a science experiment that
involves racing bugs, Exploration Day is a hit.

Field Trip Days:

In addition to the daily lessons, a large part of the curriculum takes place in 3D as four field trips are planned each week.

San Diego is blessed with fine weather and high quality child-friendly local destinations and Miriam's program takes advantage of these facts.

Parents who value that their children are out exploring these destinations, instead of staying inside every day, love this facet of Miriam's program.

Literary and mathematical skills along with social, listening and teamwork skills are gained by "learning with the five senses".

Both childrens’ minds and bodies are exercised with Miriam’s emphasis on off-site exploration.

Wednesday and Friday trips are dedicated to trips to the La Jolla Recreation Center and the
La Jolla Riford Library, or to a local beach, weather permitting.

These destinations are highly anticipated by the children and are full of rich learning opportunities. In addition to these trips, children have daily lessons at home base.

Tuesday and Thursday trips are driving day trips where excursions to broader San Diego destinations (such as the Zoo or the Point Loma Lighthouse) are planned. Whenever possible these trips will reflect the monthly theme to round out the themed curriculum material.

There is a maximum of three children these days, which allows children much one-on-one attention. The children have daily lessons either at home base beforehand or during the actual excursion.

                                   We love to go out!

"Both childrens’ minds and bodies are exercised with Miriam’s emphasis on off-site exploration."
